Happy Birthday To Us!

March 26th is a very special day for all of us at InFirst. If you can believe it, on this day 89 years ago, our credit union was "born." I know…a credit union can't be born, per se, but it sounds better than "founded" or "established." I think that's because, as a credit union, we are all about people, and people are not founded or established. So, forgive me, but I am sticking with "born."

Of course, we weren't always known as InFirst Federal Credit Union. You might remember us as U.S. Premier Federal Credit Union, Civil Service Employees Federal Credit Union, or maybe NARFE Premier Federal Credit Union, amongst others. Despite the name changes, we have stayed the same at our core. Our focus has always been on our members.

Story time.

A few weeks back, I thought to myself, how many institutions can say that they have weathered the storms our country has faced over these last 89 years? The answer is not many. Such longevity and dependability deserves recognition. And in a big way. So, we decided, why not throw a massive party? After all, we are approaching a huge milestone: our 90th birthday. Let's take the year to celebrate by rewarding our members. That's why we are introducing our Birthday Bash Extravaganza Sweepstakes. I know it's a mouthful, but this milestone deserves an impressive name.

Each week, from our 89th birthday (which is today, as I am typing this!) to our 90th, we will choose a winner to score some pretty sweet prizes. What prizes, you ask? It's a canvas tote filled with goodies… you'll get a blanket, a hot drink tumbler, a cold drink tumbler, some earbuds, a pen, and a microfiber cloth. And I can hear you all now – "Krista, that's all well and good, but I can't pay my bills with a tote full of (admittedly awesome) stuff." And you would be right – except there's more. Our weekly winners will all get a shot at winning $1,935! I'll take a brief pause here so you can finish jumping up and down and screaming.

In short, it's much of what you're probably already doing with us now. It's pretty simple if I do say so myself.

Okay, I have some party decorating to get done, and I should probably do some extra cardio because I have a feeling there will be So. Much. Cake.
